With the news that Rhea Ripley has been pulled from Money In The Bank, a new report delves into the possible reasons why she’ll miss the event.
On the June 20th episode of Monday Night Raw, Bianca Belair addressed the crowd and revealed that her scheduled match against Rhea Ripley wouldn’t be taking place at Money in the Bank because Ripley is not medically cleared to compete. Ripley showed off her dental injury on social media, though it is unclear whether the injury occurred at Hell in a Cell or on last week’s episode of Raw.
Belair then announced that Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Carmella, Asuka, and Becky Lynch would face off in a fatal five-way match to see who faces her at Money in the Bank. That match saw Carmella emerge victorious meaning she is now the number one contender to Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated on the possible reasons Rhea Ripley has been pulled from Money In The Bank:
“I don’t know what the situation is but I’ve asked around but nobody seems to know what the exact thing is. The usual suspects when they don’t say something is COVID and concussion and in both cases, you would most likely be back by July the 2nd.”
“COVID very likely back and concussion, it varies and everything like that but you wouldn’t adamantly say they won’t be back. So it could be an injury, no details at this moment, it will probably come out tomorrow I’m gonna guess.”
