While Miro hasn’t been seen on AEW television for a number of months, the star has now seemingly revealed the reason behind his absence.
Miro hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Bryan Danielson in the final of the AEW World Title Eliminator tournament at Full Gear on November 13th. That match came after Miro was added to the tournament at the eleventh hour with Jon Moxley unable to compete. The former WWE star first dispatched Orange Cassidy before meeting Danielson.
It was later reported that neither of these matches were planned as the star was dealing with a hamstring injury. In fact, The Redeemer had been out of action since losing the TNT Championship to Sammy Guevara on September 29th.
Despite his absence, it was recently noted that the star has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal which will see him remain with company until 2026.
Furthermore, the man himself has now revealed that he has been living in Brooklyn, New York while filming a new TV series called “East New York.” On IMDB, Miro is listed as playing a character called Nikolai Dushkin.
You can find a synopsis for the show below.
“Follows the recently promoted police captain of East New York, Regina Haywood, who leads a diverse group of officers and detectives, some of whom are hesitant to deploy her creative methods of serving and protecting.”
Posting on social media, the star confirmed that’s he’s been working on the new project.
Super excited about this upcoming pilot. Living in Brooklyn has definitely opened my eyes about living in a city, walking to a gym and groceries. #Dushkinpic.twitter.com/cqByK9UURV

Meanwhile, Miro’s wife CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana, recently opened up about her time with WWE. Perry branded the work environment within the company “toxic” saying she had been “brainwashed.”
