Reported Reason Behind Jeff Hardy’s WWE Release

Jeff Hardy

A new update on the status of former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy has given an indication as to why the star was reportedly released by WWE.

Reports emerged over the weekend that Hardy had been sent home from a live event after what sources within WWE called a “rough night.”

PWInsider first reported that Hardy was not at the live event held in Corpus Christi, Texas on Sunday, 5th of December. At the previous night’s event in Edinburg, Texas, Jeff Hardy headlined teaming with King Woods and Drew McIntyre to take on The Bloodline in a six-man tag team match.

In that match, Hardy was said to have taken the lion’s share of the punishment from Roman Reigns and The Usos but once he tagged his partners in, Hardy left through the crowd and did not re-emerge after the bout.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first broke the news that WWE has reportedly come to terms on the release of Jeff Hardy and has now followed up with a possible reason that The Charismatic Enigma has been let go:

“I’ve heard WWE offered Jeff Hardy help and rehab, and it was not accepted. Here’s to hoping things get better for him.”

Jeff Hardy has recently talked about the SWAT Team making a drugs bust on his house just two weeks after he left WWE for the second time back in 2009.

Jeff Hardy recently competed as part of Team SmackDown in the traditional 5 vs. 5 tag team bout at Survivor Series. Since then The Charismatic Enigma has competed on SmackDown teaming with McIntyre to face Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss.
