Harley Cameron suffered a brutal fate following AEW Double or Nothing.
On May 25th, 2025, during the Double or Nothing pre-show, Anna Jay and Harley Cameron successfully defeated the team of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. Soon after their victory, Harley Cameron suffered a broken nose on the follow-up episode of the May 28th edition of Dynamite. Bryan Alvarez had previously stated that Cameron was injured during her match.
In the latest edition of Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted by Meltzer that the “broken nose” spot resulted after Megan Bayne dropped Cameron on her face on the ring steps, and was seemingly a planned segment. Meltzer wrote:
“Harley Cameron is taking time off. The broken nose spot in her 5/28 tag match where Megan Bayne dropped her on her face on the ring steps and the doctor came out was a planned spot as a storyline cover for her taking time off.”
Meltzer reports that the segment, during which Cameron received medical attention, was a pre-planned method to provide the AEW star with time away. Following Jay and Cameron’s victory at Double or Nothing, the duo lost their rematch on the recent episode of Dynamite against Bayne and Ford.
Despite a planned segment, Cameron seemingly broke her nose and will be taking time off from television.
Harley Cameron Names Mercedes Mone As The Brain Behind Her Humorous AEW Puppet Segment
Earlier this year, ahead of Grand Slam Australia, Harley Cameron introduced her Puppet Mone during her feud with Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship. The puppet and the comic segments became extremely popular amongst the fans and went viral on the internet as well.
Later, during an interview with Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho, Harley Cameron revealed it to be the brainchild of Mercedes Mone.
“I posted a thing on Twitter being like, ‘Me and Earl are doing Cameo.’ I guess everyone at work was like, ‘You’re a puppeteer?’ It was Mercedes’ idea. I still remember when we spoke about it and she was like, ‘Could you ever do a puppet of me?’
It’s so funny she said it because the moment she said it, I was like, ‘No shit, I was literally thinking about doing this.’ I actually made the puppet. I bought the puppet base, but the hair and outfit, I have to give a shoutout to Chris, the seamstress here, he’s fantastic, he made the gear. I gave some of my old gear to him and he made her gear. We created Mini Mone ourselves and the people love it.”
