More information has been provided on plans for an Alexa Bliss return being nixed.
Approaching 2 years out of the ring, Bliss last competed at the 2023 Royal Rumble in a losing effort to Bianca Belair. Given that the Royal Rumble is known for surprise returns and the start of the build to WrestleMania, fans expected to see the former Women’s Champion back as a part of the Rumble match or potentially an episode of Raw or SmackDown beforehand.
However, despite it being previously reported that Bliss was closing in on a return, an update stated that all plans for the WWE star have been scrapped. The report also noted that Bliss was set to be a part of The Wyatt Sicks storyline, but the group will now continue without the former Women’s Champion factored into the plans.
Speaking about Bliss on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Bliss has not returned due to contract arrangements being finalised, which was one of the reasons speculated for the scrapped plans in the initial report:
“The deal with Alexa Bliss is, she was supposed to be on the show in San Jose. They have not come to terms on a contract but she was going to debut – the thing is she was gonna debut with the Wyatt Sicks but the Wyatt Sicks have been moved to SmackDown so it kinda made no sense for her to be on Raw.
She was expected to come back and they’re working out a contract deal, that’s where everything stands right now.”
Alexa Bliss Continues To Tease Return
Although Bliss has not responded to the reports concerning her scrapped return plans, the former Women’s Champion has continually hinted that a return is not too far away by posting photos and clips from her time in WWE. The most recent Alexa Bliss tease came in early 2025, once again sparking speculation that she would be back on TV soon.
In other news, former WWE star Baron Corbin explained why he is not interested in joining AEW.
