Raw Women’s Championship Match Set For SummerSlam

WWE Raw Women's Championship Belt

The participants for the Raw Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam are set!

The latest episode of Monday Night Raw saw Bianca Belair take on Carmella for the Raw Women’s Championship. After Carmella scored a countout victory over the champion last week, she declared that if Belair were to be counted out again, she’d lose the title.

Before the bout could begin, Becky Lynch came out to address the Tampa crowd and reveal that she’d been granted the opportunity to try to regain the championship at SummerSlam as she’d be taking on whoever emerged victorious tonight.

Bianca Belair came out to address Lynch’s comments, saying that this would not be the Becky Lynch comeback story; instead, this would be Bianca Belair’s continued redemption after the events of last year’s SummerSlam, where Big Time Becks made a shock return to WWE and defeated Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in just 26 seconds. Carmella joined the fray and insisted that she’d be walking out as champion tonight.

Throughout the championship match, Carmella attempted to keep Bianca Belair outside of the ring to score another countout victory, and she nearly succeeded. However, Belair was able to make it back into the ring just before the count of ten, foiling her challenger’s plans.

In the end, Belair was able to deliver a KOD to Carmella and score a pinfall victory, retaining her championship and ensuring her spot at SummerSlam.

After the match, Becky Lynch confronted Bianca Belair in the ring, throwing down the Raw Women’s Championship at the champion’s feet in a show of disrespect.
