Roman Reigns has stood at the top of WWE for over two years, and unsurprisingly this has made him a target.
The Tribal Chief has held the Universal Championship for a staggering 843 days and counting, while he’s been the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for over 260 days. During this period he’s seen off former champions and Hall of Famers, but the challengers keep on coming.
“I Have To Run Through Roman Reigns” – Damian Priest
During the second half of 2022 Damian Priest has seen his stock rise significantly alongside that of Judgment Day. The group also featuring Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio have enjoyed a fine run to become the most dominant faction on Raw. In doing so, they have potentially put themselves in line for a shot at the next group along the WWE food chain, The Bloodline.
During a recent appearance on The Five Count, Damian Priest was asked who he would like to wrestle in the future. The former United States Champion discussed a potential showdown between Judgment Day and The Bloodline, as well as his own personal mission to face Roman Reigns.
“The WWE is the best of the best. You got the best talent in the world, and all these larger than life names and characters. So it’s hard to pinpoint one over the other. But it would be a lie if I didn’t say at some point we didn’t need The Bloodline and Judgment Day to mix it up. If I want my name to live forever, if I want the fame and the fortune and the stardom that comes with being the main WWE Superstar, I have to run through Roman Reigns. That has to happen.
At some point I’m sure it will, we’ll cross paths down the line.”
Damian Priest was most recently in action on the December 19th edition of Raw where he teamed with Finn Balor as they were defeated by the Street Profits.
On SmackDown, Roman Reigns will be back in the ring on December 30th when he teams with Sami Zayn to take on Kevin Owens and a returning John Cena.
