Update On Raw & SmackDown Location The Week Of Clash At The Castle

WWE comes to Cardiff's Principality Stadium Clash at the Castle

According to a new report, Raw and SmackDown will not air from the UK the week of Clash at the Castle in September.

WWE is set to host its first stadium show in the UK in 30 years when it descends on Cardiff for Clash at the Castle on Saturday, September 3rd. However, according to a new report, the UK won’t be seeing Raw and SmackDown tapings the week of the big event.

Speaking on Monday Night Live on the ITR Clips channel, Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT reported that the company is not planning to air Raw or SmackDown from the UK.

“The only thing I did want to drop on you guys is as far as I’m aware, Raw and SmackDown will not be in the UK for that show. I understand SmackDown will be taped the week beforehand, and then I think they’ll fly back and do Raw live on the Monday.”

McCarthy continued, noting that there will be other shows surrounding the Premium Live Event, though the nature of those shows isn’t clear at this point.

“But I do understand there will be shows on on the Friday, obviously Saturday is the stadium show, and there will be something on the Sunday. I don’t know exactly what they are, but educated guess tells me it’s gonna be something NXT/NXT UK related, so keep your eyes peeled for that. When I know more I’ll let you know, but you’re not going to get a SmackDown or Raw unfortunately this time around.”

There are not yet any matches announced for Clash at the Castle, but a recent report speculated that Drew McIntyre may face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. However, that could change if boxer Tyson Fury agrees to be part of the show.
