According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, further plans have been revealed for the much talked about Randy Orton vs. Edge clash scheduled for WrestleMania 37.

In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer states that the clash is currently penned as an ‘I Quit’ Match but this could change as the company get closer to March 28 and it’s clearer whether or not WWE will be able to return to a stadium.

Randy Orton’s victory over Drew McIntyre at WWE Hell in a Cell was the beginning of a reign of terror that will lead to the return of Edge and the final bout in their rivalry on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’.

However, according to Meltzer, some in the company believed that Drew McIntyre should have remained WWE Champion because Randy Orton vs. Edge didn’t need a championship attached to it in order to make it a draw.

Previously, Randy Orton and Edge have done battle in a Last Man Standing Match at WrestleMania 36 earlier this year and a standard wrestling bout billed as ‘The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever’ and are currently tied at one victory apiece. During the latter, Edge suffered a torn pectoral injury which will keep him out of action until January at the earliest.

Currently, Randy Orton has his hands full on Monday Night Raw with ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt and Drew McIntyre in a three way storyline that Dave Meltzer says will form the core of the red brand until the New Year.
