After successfully defending the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 38, Randy Orton had high praise for tag team partner Riddle!
WrestleMania 38 proved successful for RK-Bro when they successfully defended their Raw Tag Team Championship in a triple threat match against Alpha Academy and the Street Profits. The final moments of the match saw Riddle springboard off the top rope to give an RKO to Montez Ford before Randy Orton delivered another RKO onto a diving Chad Gable to pick up the victory.
In a WWE backstage interview with Sarah Schreiber after the match, Randy Orton praised his tag team partner for executing his signature move in a way he’s never been able to do before, saying that Riddle had a true WrestleMania moment.
“You needed your WrestleMania moment. I know this wasn’t your first WrestleMania, but you needed a WrestleMania moment, man. You did something that I could never do with the RKO, and that’s a springboard off the top rope. Brother, that was sick. That was sick.”
Randy Orton continued, saying that RK-Bro are the best and indicating that they could pick up other titles in WWE while they’re the reigning Raw Tag Team Champions.
“Nobody’s better than us. We are the best Tag Team Champions the WWE has ever seen. As a matter of fact, I think we’re the best champions that the WWE has ever seen. The sky’s the limit, man, the sky’s the limit. There’s some more titles around here running around somewhere. We will grab some more titles when the time comes.”
RK-Bro won the Raw Tag Team Championship for a second time when they defeated Alpha Academy and the duo of Seth Rollins & Kevin Owens in a triple threat match on the March 7th episode of Monday Night Raw.
