Randy Orton’s wife Kim revealed that her husband nearly passed out during his WrestleMania 33 entrance!
WrestleMania 33 saw Randy Orton capitalize on his 2017 Royal Rumble win and capture the WWE Championship from Bray Wyatt. Prior to their feud, Orton had joined the Wyatt Family and even won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship alongside Wyatt at the 2016 TLC.
When Bray Wyatt won the Elimination Chamber and became WWE Champion, Randy Orton vowed that he would be loyal to Wyatt and wouldn’t challenge him at WrestleMania. However, this turned out to be a lie, and Orton burned down the entire Wyatt Family compound ahead of their WWE Championship match.
Emotions were certainly running high by the time the two had their bout in Orlando, FL. Speaking on the Wives of Wrestling Podcast, Randy Orton’s wife Kim revealed that her husband got so fired up for the match that he got lightheaded during his entrance and nearly fainted. She also took a good-natured jab at the speed of her husband’s entrance.
“I was just gonna say something about Randy’s entrance at that same WrestleMania. He was walking down the ramp and he got so fired up that he got lightheaded. Yeah, but he got so fired up and like, held his breath as he was getting fired up, and he stops, and he puts his like hands down and he was like [discombobulated]. That motherf*cker almost passed out. He walks so slow as it is that it took him five minutes to get down there.”
The WWE Championship match itself proved underwhelming to many fans as images of bugs and maggots were projected onto the ring multiple times during the bout. Bray Wyatt was able to defeat Randy Orton the next month at Payback in a House of Horrors match, but due to Wyatt having been moved to Raw in the WWE Draft, the match was not for the title and Orton remained WWE Champion until he lost to Jinder Mahal at Backlash in May.
Randy Orton is set to defend his Raw Tag Team Championship alongside his partner Riddle at WrestleMania 38, where he will set a major milestone.
Elsewhere in the podcast, Reby Hardy and Giovanna Angle spoke about the Hardy Boyz inadvertently stealing Kurt Angle’s Hall of Fame pyro at that same event.
