Randy Orton Names His Favourite WrestleMania Moment

Randy Orton WrestleMania

Randy Orton has revealed his favourite WrestleMania moment from a career that has seen the Viper compete on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’ seventeen times.

Over the years Randy Orton has faced legends and icons of the wrestling business at WrestleMania. He has tangled with The Undertaker, Triple H, Kane, and Edge to name a few. However, Orton says his particular favourite WrestleMania moment goes even further back than any of those.

Speaking to Kurt Angle and Conrad Thompson on The Kurt Angle Show [available via AdFreeShows.com], Randy Orton revealed his personal favourite WrestleMania moment.

Orton stated:

“I feel like I’ve had so many mini WrestleMania moments, it’s hard to really put my finger on one. But I think for me, maybe, WrestleMania 20. I was out there with Mick [Foley], Rock, Ric [Flair], Batista, and just that feeling in my gut in Gorilla at the Garden right before I went out. I think for me that’s about as close as I can get to remembering, especially that far back, that exact feeling I had. And it’s like, what a feeling being so young and going out there with that type of talent.”

“Especially at the Garden, at WrestleMania 20. Twenty years, two decades after my father was in the main event of the original WrestleMania in the same freakin’ building. So all of that history kinda coming together and then on top of that the fact that my father was there to see the match in person. That wouldn’t be a moment for the fans but as far as WrestleMania moments go, that would be mine.”

Randy Orton’s WrestleMania debut saw him team with Evolution stablemates, Batista and Ric Flair. They faced The Rock and Sock Connection in a handicap match, with Evolution coming out on top.

Orton’s father ‘Ace’ Cowboy Bob Orton was in the corner of ‘Mr Wonderful’ Paul Orndorff and ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper as the first WrestleMania in 1985. Their opponents in that historic match were WWF Champion Hulk Hogan and television star Mr T. Hogan and T got the victory after Orton inadvertently nailed Orndorff with his trademark cast.
