Randy Orton is officially set to compete at WrestleMania 41 on Night 2.
In response to this news, on the April 4th edition of SmackDown, Orton delivered an RKO to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, stating he doesn’t care who he faces in Las Vegas, just as long as he has a match at his 20th WrestleMania. Then, on the April 18th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Orton issued an open challenge inviting any WWE Superstar to face him.
Who Will Face Randy Orton At WrestleMania 41?
As of now, Orton’s opponent remains a mystery, adding further anticipation to his match. However, there are several names doing the rounds as to who might be the future Hall of Famer’s surprise opponent.
Former AEW star Miro, who is reportedly heading back to WWE, is someone fans have speculated could make his return. Malakai Black’s name has also been bandied about, while former NJPW star Jeff Cobb is another name that could potentially be an option. While these names are purely speculative as their signings have been made official, there are others already in the company that could step up to The Viper.
Obviously, Nick Aldis could swap the suit for his wrestling tights and make his WWE debut after Orton dropped him with an RKO out of frustration, and Solo Sikoa, who has a long history with the Legend Killer, is also in contention as the mystery opponent.
In other news, there is a strong concern that a big WrestleMania 41 match might be cancelled.
