WWE has provided an injury update on former Raw Tag Team Champion Randy Orton after the vicious assault by The Usos and Roman Reigns.
On the 20th of May edition of SmackDown, Randy Orton and Riddle finally got their wish as they faced The Usos in a match to crown Unified Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions. As is the norm with The Bloodline, the numbers advantage became too much when Roman Reigns got involved and The Usos walked out with both sets of tag titles.
After the match, The Bloodline continued their assault on RK-Bro with Randy Orton being assaulted with the steel ringside steps.
Now WWE has released an update on Orton’s condition on social media:
“Randy Orton is currently undergoing consultations with neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons to determine the extent of his injury and to recommend course of treatment.”

The attack and injury to Randy Orton could play into WWE’s reported summer plans for Roman Reigns. Reigns was seemingly scheduled to take on Orton’s tag team partner Riddle at Money In The Bank before facing The Viper himself at SummerSlam.
However, Reigns’ status for Money In The Bank may be up in the air after he was removed from advertising from the event after it was announced WWE was moving their July premium live event from a stadium into an arena.
