Few wrestling moves capture fans’ imagination quite like an RKO outta nowhere but now Randy Orton admits he wishes he’d thought of a different finishing move.
For almost two decades Orton has seen off many an opponent with his own jumping version of a cutter. The RKO propelled the third-generation star to World Heavyweight and WWE Championships over the years and has even entered meme-culture, transcending the boundaries of sports entertainment.
However, the move entails Randy Orton jumping high into the air and landing on his back as he flattens opponents from every angle The Viper can possibly strike from.
Speaking to Fox 2 Now in his native St. Louis, Orton discussed his iconic finishing move and says if he had his time again, he’d have thought of something else to finish off opponents:
“I kind of wish I could go back in time and create a finishing move that didn’t entail me jumping up as high as I can and landing on my back. After doing that a couple of thousand times over the last few decades, I’m starting to feel it.”
Randy Orton has also used The Punt to see opponents off during the darkest and most psychotic days of his character. But having elevated the ubiquitous cutter to legendary status, fans are sure to want to see the most three devastating letters in sports entertainment when Orton enters the ring – RKO.
