Before Brock Lesnar and John Cena close their 26-year rivalry in pro wrestling at WWE’s upcoming debut event on ESPN, Wrestlepalooza, Lesnar met Cena’s “younger brother” in the ring.
On September 12, Brock Lesnar cut his first promo on WWE TV in over two years. He shared the ring with R-Truth, who came out during The Beast’s segment and claimed to be John Cena’s younger brother, Ron Cena.
R-Truth had sold a ton of merchandise earlier this year as Ron Cena when he feuded with The Never Seen 17. He addressed this after unceremoniously interrupting The Beast, but added that he was out to defend his brother and “childhood hero.”
The former UFC mauler point-blank asked R-Truth his age, and the veteran even stated that he and John Cena had the same father. He ended up eating an F-5 for his troubles.
What happened after the show, though, was truly unexpected.

The running gag on WWE TV for years has been that John Cena, 48, is R-Truth’s childhood hero. Truth, 53, went further this time around, alleging that John Cena Sr was his father.
The two were seen smiling for a picture in Ron Cena’s latest post on X/Twitter. The veteran once again called The Greatest Of All Time his big brother, saying, “We miss you big brother John Cena.”

Wrestlepalooza marks the end of the line for John Cena and Brock Lesnar, who started out their wrestling careers at Ohio Valley Wrestling, graduated as the Class of 2002 along with Randy Orton, Batista, and Shelton Benjamin.
After Brock Lesnar left WWE owing to burnout and a desire to pursue other interests, John Cena became the flagbearer of the sports entertainment capital. Upon The Beast’s return following a successful UFC run, he targeted Cena right out of the gate.
The two locked horns at Extreme Rules (2012), SummerSlam and Night of Champions (both 2014), and in a Triple Threat also featuring Seth Rollins at Royal Rumble (2015).
