R-Truth has admitted that he can’t take all the credit for a long-running joke on WWE Raw.
Following his return at Survivor Series, Truth has associated himself with The Judgment Day. Although the remaining members have repeatedly told him that he is not a part of the faction, Truth is under the belief that it is all part of his initiation and that he really is a part of the group.
On January 8th, Truth was part of a hilarious segment where he explained the origins of his affiliation with the group. Photoshopping himself into various images, the former 24/7 Champion stated that everyone is united as a family. Referencing Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, Truth would confuse Dominik Mysterio for Tom and Nick Mysterio, adding that he never met Nick.
The joke was a hit among fans and even inspired a T-shirt that would become a top seller on WWE Shop. While Truth’s comedic talents made the joke connect with fans, he can’t take all the credit.
Speaking with Rush Hour Morning, the former United States Champion credited Director of Long Term Creative Rob Fee with being the inspiration for the gag and how he knew that the audience would love it:
“That was Rob Fee and myself. When he said the name at first, we both laughed, we knew it would work. That’s one thing about the wrestling business, if we laugh at it, we know everybody is going to laugh at it. That’s how we pick and choose. I can’t take credit for all of that one,”
Top WWE Name Admits To Being Cracked By R-Truth’s Comedy
Despite their best efforts, even the most serious names in professional wrestling struggle to keep a straight face when Truth is around. In an exclusive interview with Inside The Ropes, Damian Priest admitted that R-Truth has made him break on multiple occasions, adding that he knew there was something special when The Judgment Day was first paired with the veteran.
In regards to Rob Fee, the former Marvel writer has announced his new WWE role.
H/t to Fightful.
