R-Truth Makes Surprise WWE NXT Appearance, Will Compete Next Week

R-Truth

R-Truth has consistently proven himself to be one of the funniest wrestlers to make a career in WWE. No matter what the occasion, his comedic timing and in-ring work have been excellent, and he delights audiences with jokes such as calling John Cena (who is five years younger than him) his “childhood hero.”

Last night, R-Truth made his return to WWE Raw in his hometown of Charlotte, NC, and even managed to score a win over his former Awesome Truth tag team partner The Miz. During the bout, Miz was distracted by a hooded figure in the front row of the audience, thinking it was Dexter Lumis. However, after R-Truth’s pinfall victory, the figure was revealed to be Johnny Gargano, who later in the show promised to reveal the secret reason Lumis has been targeting The Miz. However, Truth’s WWE appearances weren’t done for the week.

R-Truth Thought He Was In WWE NXT To Host Halloween Havoc

The latest episode of WWE NXT saw Wes Lee come to the ring to address his NXT North American Championship win at Halloween Havoc. He thanked the crowd, giving a heartfelt speech about how he didn’t know if he’d ever make it to WWE, and how this title means everything to him because it means he truly belongs. However, his celebration was interrupted by Grayson Waller, who talked about losing his casket match to Apollo Crews the previous Saturday.

The WWE NXT crowd was shocked when the sounds of R-Truth‘s theme music began playing, and when the former 24/7 Champion got on the microphone, he seemed to believe that he was hosting Halloween Havoc tonight despite the event taking place three days ago. Waller ridiculed Truth for his confusion, and Truth emulated what he called a “Bristish” accent as the Australian confronted him. When Wes Lee confirmed that Halloween Havoc was over, R-Truth said “My bad!”

Grayson Waller, incensed by R-Truth mistaking his identity, challenged the North Carolina native to a match, but said that he’d wait until next week to fight him. However, the Australian tried to launch a sneak attack, but was thwarted and run off by R-Truth before Truth said, “See you next week!”

Elsewhere on WWE NXT, the Women’s Tag Team Title match ended in controversy when Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark initially appeared to have won the match, but the decision was reversed by the head referee after seeing that the illegal competitor was pinned. After the match was restarted, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter retained their titles.
