R-Truth Is Leaving WWE: Cathy Kelley, Ricochet, Big E, and More Share Messages

Former and current WWE stars express sadness over R-Truth's release

R-Truth received several reactions from former and current superstars after announcing his WWE departure.

R-Truth recently announced that after 17 years, he was exiting WWE. In his message, he thanked the Stamford-based promotion and the fans for the endless support and love over the years. Unsurprisingly, he was loved not just in front of the cameras but also backstage, as seen by the messages from several current superstars.

Absent WWE star Big E shared how Truth made him laugh the most backstage, and he had known him for over a decade. The former New Day member noted how they were like brothers, and Truth always spread kindness and joy.

“No one made me laugh backstage more than Ron. I’ve known this man for 13 years. He treated me like a brother from the very first day. Never saw him in a bad mood. A man who spread kindness and joy every chance he could.”

WWE backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley also noted how Truth was her favorite and most supportive person she worked with.

“one of my favorite and most supportive people i’ve ever gotten to work with. gonna miss you so much Truthy”

SmackDown star Naomi was also saddened by the news and shared how she never got to film a TikTok with the superstar.

Several Former WWE Stars Are Also Saddened By R-Truth’s Release

Whether in WWE or not, it’s clear that R-Truth’s impact and positivity have spread even to stars no longer in the company.

Dean Muhtadi, best known as Mojo Rawley in the Triple H-led company from 2012 to 2021, shared that working with Truth was a treat and considered him one of the most entertaining stars he knew.

“This is truly the end of an era. Working with @RonKillings was always a real treat. One of the most entertaining to ever do it. The skit we did with @TheMikeRallis at the @OriginalFunko HQ was one of the most fun moments of my career.”

Ricochet, who was with the Stamford-based promotion from 2018 to 2024, said that Truth was an amazing talent and a better person, wishing that the former US Champion would enjoy his life following the departure. The AEW star’s other half and former WWE announcer, Samantha Irvin, also said his exit was “unreal.”

“You’re an amazing talent and an even better person. Go enjoy your life unc!”

Tom Pestock, also known as Baron Corbin from WWE from 2012 to 2024, shared that R-Truth was a company guy and thanked Truth for helping him in and outside the ring.

“Mind blowing! A true company guy and amazing person! Thank you for everything in and out of the ring my friend.”

Sidney Akeem, who wrestled from 2020 to 2024 in WWE as Reggie, shared that he was honored to meet R-Truth and would remember their time together fondly.

“I’m so honored to have met you my guy. I would always cherish our time together”

Cedric Alexander, who was in WWE from 2016 to 2025, called Truth an all-time great.

“All time great!!!!!”

Matt Cardona, former Zack Ryder in the Triple H-led company from 2005 to 2020, noted that R-Truth kept coming back to entertain people no matter what happened.

“I can’t even count how many times Truth has been counted out…just to come back and entertain us EVEN MORE!!!”

Finally, former superstar AJ Francis, or Top Dolla, also had positive things to say about R-Truth.

It remains to be seen where R-Truth will be seen next following his WWE departure.
