R-Truth clarified whether his WWE departure was planned or not.
At the beginning of this month, R-Truth announced that he departed WWE following his contract expiring. Many fans and superstars expressed sadness about his exit on social media and live shows. A week later, the wrestling veteran returned at the end of the Money in the Bank event.
Truth attacked his previous rival, John Cena, during his tag team match with Logan Paul against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. This led to discussions about whether his exit was planned or just a re-hiring, and the superstar finally clarified his status.
After a fan posted a video of Truth’s return on social media and said that everybody was “worked” about his departure, the returning star said it wasn’t a “work,” and was indeed released at the beginning of this month.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also reported that everybody in WWE believed that R-Truth’s departure wasn’t scripted, and a new deal was possibly made just a few days ago.
Also, Sportskeeda’s Anirban Banerjee noted that Ron Killings was in talks with several independent promotions these past few days before it suddenly stopped.
Triple H Claims R-Truth’s WWE Exit Was Planned
Although a couple of reports have already stated that Truth’s exit was real, along with the superstar himself, Triple H said otherwise.
During the 2025 Money in the Bank post-show press conference, WWE’s Chief Content Officer was asked if Truth truly departed the company or if it was all part of the plan. Contrary to what the superstar said, Triple H implied that it was planned.
“Enjoying the show? Whole part of the show.”
It will be interesting to see what is next for R-Truth following his shocking WWE return.
