R-Truth Becoming World Champion Could Be The Biggest Thing Since Mick Foley’s Win, Says WWE Legend

R-Truth WWE

R-Truth is back in WWE, but with a brand new twist.

Earlier last week, R-Truth, Carlito, and Sarah Rowe made their WWE departure public. The trio parted ways with the promotion after the promotion let their contracts expire. However, soon after, fans made their disapproval known on the live shows and the internet, which led to WWE possibly bringing back R-Truth at Money in the Bank, with a new twist.

Later on the 9th June episode of Raw, the former 24/7 Champion appeared in front of a live crowd and cut his dreadlocks to assert his brand new character. Not going by R-Truth anymore, the former champion revealed his new alter ego to be Ron Killings, which also happens to be his real name.

Recently, speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, wrestling legend Booker T shared his thoughts on Killings’ current status and claimed that he might win the World Championship soon, before comparing it with Mick Foley’s surprising title win back in 1999.

“You know what I see? I see Ron Killings winning the World Heavyweight Championship. How crazy would that be? You know what? It would shake up the whole world.

It’ll be the biggest thing since, you know, perhaps putting the title on Mick Foley, WCW, that night, you know, when everybody changed the channels to watch Mick Foley win…It could be unbelievable.”

Matt Hardy Claims R-Truth’s Exit Wouldn’t Have Happened Under Vince McMahon

Before Truth returned at Money in the Bank 2025, TNA star Matt Hardy had opened up on R-Truth’s exit and claimed that it wouldn’t have happened under Vince McMahon’s leadership.

“I mean, it was shocking. You would think with the attitude and mentality he had — If Vince was there, I think he probably would’ve stuck around because Vince was such a big fan. He was easy to work with, he wasn’t difficult, he wasn’t a challenge. It was shocking. I was shocked that they didn’t re-sign him. I would’ve thought that R-Truth would’ve been a WWE lifer at this point. He liked the gig, he liked what he was doing and I was very surprised by it. I was very caught off vibe. When you sent me his tweet, it was shocking like, ‘Woah.’ That was definitely not on my bingo card as they say.”

“I guess the TKO era is different, maybe they’re looking at a bottom line like, how much many is this talent specifically bringing in? Is this talent bringing in enough to be justified to be paid x amount of dollars. I mean, that’s the only thing I can figure, that they couldn’t justify paying him x amount dollars for the revenue.”
