Queen Zelina has been missing from WWE television in recent weeks and a new report says the star has undergone surgery for an apparent injury.
Queen Zelina has been off WWE television for several weeks with no explanation given. PWInsider has now reported that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion has undergone surgery for an undisclosed injury.
The report states that sources believe she will be out of action for another 6-8 weeks, which puts her return in the ballpark of SummerSlam, which takes place at the end of July.
This injury could throw into doubt other reports that said Queen Zelina could be involved in a four-team tournament to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions following Sasha Banks and Naomi being stripped of the gold and suspended by WWE for walking out on Raw.
Queen Zelina was seemingly pegged to reunite with former partner Carmella in a tournament that would include Natalya & Shayna Baszler, Tamina & Dana Brooke, and Nikki A.S.H & Doudrop.
PWInsider’s report also adds that Zelina could be in line for a major push when she returns with many behind the scenes taking note of her hard work in recent months.
Zelina’s last match on WWE television came on the 11th of April edition of Raw where she lost to Raw Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair.
