A notable member of the AEW roster has just one year left on their current contract.
Back at Worlds End, Jeff Jarrett was victorious over QT Marshall on the pre-show. Shortly after the victory, Jarrett stated that he would be appearing on Dynamite to address his future, leading many fans to believe that the veteran would be announcing his retirement.
On the January 1st Dynamite, Jarrett let the world know that he would not be retiring just yet as he had signed his final contract and also looked to become the World Champion one final time.
One week later, Jarrett attempted to make good on his promise by entering the Casino Gauntlet match. However, as The Last Outlaw was making his entrance he was attacked by Wheeler Yuta and never factored into the match.
Appearing with Ian Riccaboni after the match, Jarrett was interrupted by MJF, who referenced the crowded World Championship picture and Jarrett’s new contract. In reference to the new deal, MJF let the world know that Jarrett’s contract would only last a year before offering to help the veteran become the new World Champion in exchange for the first title shot, which Jarrett refused.
In recent news, two new AEW signings have been announced.
