Malik Blade and Edris Enofe earned a shot at Pretty Deadly’s NXT Tag Team Championships after a shocking upset victory!
The October 11th episode of NXT saw a triple threat match to determine the next contenders for Pretty Deadly’s NXT Tag Team Championships. Former NXT UK Tag Team Champions Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen faced off against the Joe Gacy-led Dyad and the underdog team of Malik Blade and Edris Enofe, who’ve struggled to pick up many victories since making their NXT debuts.
Prior to the match Pretty Deadly appeared on a platform above the ring to address the teams. Elton Prince wore a giant foam cowboy hat and had the letter G painted on his chest while Kit Wilson donned a beer helmet and his chest sported the letter O so that the champions could poke fun at American sports culture as they watched their potential competitors fight. After they congratulated Indi Hartwell on her victory over Valentina Feroz, they said that they were there to sit back and enjoy watching the three teams annihilate each other.

The triple threat match was full of action, and throughout the bout, commentary made note of the fact that this would be the biggest victory Blade and Enofe would have ever achieved if they could find a way to defeat the more experienced teams. Sure enough, the underdog team was having a good showing, which led Joe Gacy to interfere on behalf of the Dyad – but just when it looked like Gacy would ruin the chances of a Cinderella story, Cameron Grimes appeared to even the score, and Enofe and Blade picked up the win.
