Pretty Deadly have held the NXT Tag Team Titles since winning a huge Fatal-Four-Way Match at Worlds Collide, but they are now about to face their stiffest test yet.
On the December 6th episode of NXT, Kit Wilson and Elton Prince treated the world to their version of a Christmas Story. The former NXT UK stars took great delight in their achievements from the past year, and pointed to a lack of competition in their division. After claiming that 2023 would be their year because there was no one left to face them, the pair were confronted by one of the most decorated tag teams in WWE history.
Pretty Deadly Vs. The New Day Set For NXT Deadline
Never ones to turn down a challenge Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston of the New Day arrived to make their presence felt. The duo revealed that they would be facing Pretty Deadly at NXT Deadline on December 10th.
Between Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods, the New Day have held WWE tag team gold on an impressive 13 occasions. They were also the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history until just a few weeks ago when they were surpassed by The Usos. This came after Woods and Kingston failed in their bid to become Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions on the November 11th edition of SmackDown.
Despite their success, the New Day have never held the NXT Tag Team Titles. If they are victorious on December 10th they will become only the second ‘Grand Slam’ Champions in WWE history. To date, only FTR (The Revival) have won the NXT, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles.
