Potentially Unfortunate Update On Jey Uso After WWE Title Loss

Gunther captures the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso on WWE RAW

WWE crowned a new World Heavyweight Champion on Monday’s RAW amid fallout from Money In the Bank. Jey Uso’s historic reign has come to an end, and now there’s talk of an unfortunate happening that may have brought Gunther’s big win on.

Main Event Jey saw his first reign with the World Heavyweight Championship end at just 51 days after he was dethroned by The Ring General in Monday’s RAW main event. Uso set out to be a fighting champion, but only had two successful title defenses as he retained over Seth Rollins via DQ RAW loss last month, then defeated Logan Paul at SNME 39. Monday’s match marked Jey’s sixth bout since WrestleMania 41.

Longtime WWE Employee Believes Jey Uso May Be Dealing With Injuries

The WWE Universe is full of rumors on the real reason behind Gunther’s second World Heavyweight Championship win. Tommy Carlucci, a former 30-year-plus veteran of the company and father to a current production employee, offered his unique insight on The Last Word from Jonathan Coachman’s Behind The Turnbuckle Studios.

Uso’s health and durability have been the subject of some speculation as of late. Speaking to GabbyAF and Rafael Esparza, Carlucci wondered if injuries may force the younger Uso onto the shelf for a period of time.

“I actually like Gunther right now. I think Jey’s probably taking a little time off with these injuries, so-called injuries that he’s had. So, maybe he’s going to do that. We’ll see,” Tommy Carlucci said. [From 5:07 to 5:15]

WWE has Uso advertised for upcoming RAW tapings, SNME XL, and non-televised live events through the summer, and beyond. It remains to be seen if he will return on next week’s RAW for a follow-up with Gunther.
