A latest positive update has emerged regarding Joe Hendry’s WWE future.
A part of TNA Wrestling since 2022, Joe Hendry soared to popularity last year when his theme song became ‘I Believe in Joe Hendry’ beat the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and others to reach the top of the iTunes chart. While Hendry became a household name, he also started making sporadic WWE appearances during the NXT-TNA collaboration.
His cameos extended during the 2025 Royal Rumble match and the WrestleMania 41 bout against Randy Orton. The former TNA World Champion continued making NXT appearances and began a feud against Trick Williams. However, at Battleground 2025, fans witnessed Hendry lose his world title to Williams.
Still looking forward to reclaiming his championship, Hendry has maintained his appearances in NXT. Now, hopeful of earning back his title, a positive update has emerged on ‘The Prestigious One’s’ WWE future. As per Fightful Select, Hendry is expected for more WWE dates. Now, a semi-regular in the Stamford-based promotion, Fightful’s sources have claimed that Hendry is expected to keep appearing on NXT till Slammiversary to help promote the show.
It is currently unknown if his stint is expected to continue beyond that, or not.
A Former AEW Star Was Expected To Face Randy Orton At WrestleMania 41 And Not Joe Hendry
Recently, while speaking to Bernard Colas of Le10Sport ahead of Clash in Paris, former AEW star Aleister Black revealed that he was originally supposed to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 instead of Joe Hendry.
From what I’m told, there was a discussion about it. But for obvious reasons, it didn’t go any further because they had another plan. But the option was considered. It was a thought process like, ‘What if we do it? Well, maybe not, okay.’ That’s all I heard. The fact that they discussed it at all is pretty cool. And I would have jumped at it with open arms because any time I get a chance to wrestle Randy, it’s a good time, because Randy, he’s… he’s Randy Orton, you know! He’s Randy Orton. At WrestleMania. How could I say no? You know what I mean? I’d be scared sh**less, but I’d do it. It would be crazy.”
