It appears that Adam Cole is on the mend as he takes time away from AEW to deal with a number of injury issues.
In recent weeks and months professional wrestling has seemingly been struck down by an injury curse. A number of top stars from major companies across the globe have been forced to take time off, causing havoc in writers rooms and production meetings.
While WWE is currently without Cody Rhodes, AEW are unable to call on the services of Bryan Danielson, AEW World Champion and Adam Cole, to name just three.
Sure-fire main event star, and former World Champion Kenny Omega also remains on the side-lines.
However, some positive news appears to be on the way for the injury-hit promotion.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Adam Cole won’t be undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum. Cole has also been suffering with a concussion after a spot in his match at Forbidden Door went awry. While it was reported that he sustained a concussion during his match with Samoa Joe at Double or Nothing just weeks before.
With regard to his recovery from the second concussion, Meltzer reports that the star is doing much better.
“Cole is opting to not have surgery on his torn labrum. He’s doing therapy for it. The time frame for his return is based more on the recovery from the concussion. We are told he is faring better in that regard.”
At time of writing there is no news on when Cole will be returning to the ring.
