Could firm WWE fan favourite R-Truth have one more run as a heel before his career comes to an end?
With his hilarious one liners and mishaps, Truth has entertained WWE fans in virtually every segment he has been a part of and has made the most serious stars crack unintentionally. However, back in 2011, the former Tag Team Champion was one of the top heels on the roster as he and The Miz were involved in a feud with John Cena and The Rock, leading to a tag team match at Survivor Series that year.
Although Truth has shown no signs of slowing down in the ring, many are aware that the veteran only has a limited number of matches left before he calls time on his career. With this in mind, would Truth like to turn heel once again?
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Truth admitted that although he would love one more heel turn and a lot of people have not seen it, the greater challenge is being the babyface:
“There’s a part of me that does want to turn heel. I think it’s a selfish part so that people can see me as a heel, just because a couple of generations have just known me as R-Truth the fun guy, the comedic guy. A lot of people have not seen that side of me that can still be brought out.
The only time I went to talk about turning heel [they said] ‘I don’t think they want to see you as a heel, they want you to make them feel good. There’s a part of me that wants to turn heel because I can be a good heel, I can be an asshole. But there’s so many bad guys, you gotta be one of the good ones.
“The selfish part of me would love to turn heel and be a heel, but the majority of me is like, I could never be a heel. People would think it’s cool if I did something bad, if I did something heelish, they would think it’s cool. I smoked a cigarette and they thought that was the coolest thing on TV. To be a heel you have to get that real, genuine hatred heel heat. Mine would be more of like, they will want me to bash somebody’s head in. Selfishly, I would love to see it one time, but I don’t have to.”
WWE Star R-Truth Nearly Saw Career End Early
Although R-Truth continues to entertain the fans with his antics, there could have been a scenario where his in-ring career came to an end in an unexpected way. In the same interview, R-Truth opened up about nearly losing a leg after contracting an infection.
In other news, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T spoke about his upcoming in-ring return.
