At long last, WWE is bringing back a much-requested PLE.
On October 28, 2018, WWE made history by presenting its first all-female pay-per-view. With the returns on legends Trish Stratus and Lita, a match of the year contender between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, and Ronda Rousey defeating Nikki Bella in the main event, the show was incredibly well-received by the fans. Despite being praised, the company has yet to bring back the concept after its first outing… at least, until now.
In early March, reports emerged that at long last, WWE was in discussions to hold a second edition of Evolution. The reports indicated that tentative plans called for the show to be held on July 5th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
While the date and location for Evolution 2 have yet to be confirmed, WrestleVotes reports that the show will indeed be returning. The report reads:
After speaking with sources, we can confirm WWE is set to bring back the highly anticipated “Evolution” PLE this summer. The return of the all-women’s event is expected to be officially announced before WrestleMania. Credit to @Cory_Hays407 who had heard rumblings of this rumor weeks back.
Roxanne Perez Wants WWE Evolution 2
Speaking in an August 2024 interview with TV Insider, former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez joined the many fans in calling for another Evolution event to take place and named Bayley as a potential opponent:
“I’d love that. I’ve been waiting for an Evolution II for a pretty long time. Now I can possibly be a part of it. The first time I watched it I was watching from my couch probably 15, or 16 years old. I was dying to be part of that one day. Yeah, hopefully, they can put together an Evolution II. Maybe me versus Bayley?”
Bayley has also made it clear in the past that she wants to see WWE Evolution return.
