A highly popular team is no more, despite earning a win on AEW Dynamite.
The crowd-pleasing alliance between The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club, affectionately known as the Ass Boys, is over.
In recent months to the two teams had formed an unlikely friendship under the guidance of Billy Gunn, resulting in more scissoring than anyone ever expected to see in a wrestling ring. However, over the last couple of weeks tensions increased significantly, placing the future of the Acclaimed and the Ass Boys in jeopardy.
On the July 6th episode of AEW Dynamite the two teams joined forces to take on Fuego Del Sol, Bear Country and Leon Ruff. Any thoughts that the young teams might be able to put their differences aside were dashed when the Gunn Club grabbed the microphone out of Max Caster’s hand, preventing him from performing his signature entrance much to the disgust of those in the arena.
Once the action began it appeared that an uneasy truce had in fact been called, but this fell apart when Austin Gunn tagged himself in to score the win, despite Max Caster hitting the Mic Drop and preparing to score the pin.

After the match, The Gunn Club attacked, until they were pulled off their former partners by Billy Gunn. Although it looked as though he was attempting restore the peace, the veteran joined the beatdown to leave The Acclaimed laying.
Elsewhere on the show, Wardlow defeated Scorpio Sky to claim the TNT Championship.
