A top AEW star’s contract is set to expire in the coming months.
Danhausen hasn’t been on any AEW or ROH programming since returning to the latter’s Final Battle event in December 2024, which is a disappointment to many fans as he is one of the top stars in the Tony Khan promotions due to his unique character. As it turns out, there’s more regarding his status as All Elite.
According to Fightful Select, Danhausen’s AEW contract is finishing in July. However, the Jacksonville-based promotion may add injury time to his deal. However, since he hasn’t been used lately, it would be surprising if the company did this.
The site also reported that many, including the star himself, thought he would be involved in either AEW or ROH after he returned at Final Battle. However, when he reached out several times following the show, he was told there weren’t any plans for him. Also, the site added that there are no plans to bring Danhausen back on television.
Despite being absent from AEW and ROH, he continues wrestling in different wrestling promotions. Recently, he competed at GMW Caged Mayhem II, Lucha Boom, and more. His last appearance at All Elite Wrestling programming was at the 2023 Worlds End show.
More Reported Details Regarding Danahusen and AEW’s Relationship
In November 2024, Fightful Selectreported that the star and the company hadn’t been in regular contact for “over 6 months” at the time, and most of their conversations are simply for independent dates approval. As it turns out, Dan was supposed to return from injury a year ago, but plans changed, causing the wrestler to express his frustrations directly to Tony Khan.
There were also pitches made to bring back the star, including one from Bryan Danielson, but nothing came to fruition. Finally, although Danhausen is still interested in returning to the company, he wanted to prioritize indie bookings, and family-related reasons caused adjustments in his schedule.
