Piper Niven is set to challenge Kay Lee Ray for the NXT UK Women’s Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere match on NXT UK on November 19.
Announced on this week’s edition of NXT UK, the title showdown comes as a result of a high-octane brawl between both Scots. After Jinny made quick work of the debuting Aleah James, NXT UK’s ‘Fashionista’ took to the microphone to badmouth Piper Niven.
There is a reason why I am the ‘Queen of NXT UK‘, and that’s because I have something that none of these girls will ever have – killer instinct. I see people walking around here thinking they are untouchable, people like Piper Niven…”
Niven was quick to confront Jinny but was immediately followed by Kay Lee Ray. The reigning NXT UK Women’s Champion slid a steel chair into the ring, inciting a fight between Jinny and Piper Niven. As a result, Niven snapped and attacked Jinny with the chair before hitting her and Aleah James with the Piper Driver.
Kay Lee Ray’s devious plan seemed to have backfired, however, as the champion was chased backstage by her unhinged compatriot. The brawl continued to escalate during the commercial break, with both women being pulled apart by four referees and Sid Scala.
The Falls Count Anywhere match will be the Scot’s third attempt to dethrone Kay Lee Ray, following her unsuccessful attempt on the September 24 episode, and indeed the triple-threat match including Toni Storm at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II at the beginning of the year.
