Piper Niven Expected Back Soon Despite Not Being Cleared On WWE Raw

Piper Niven Makes Shock Return To Raw, Declares Herself Women's Tag Team Champion

Piper Niven is not expected to be out for long despite being unable to team with Chelsea Green on Raw.

On the September 4th episode of Raw, Green was shown heading to talk to Adam Pearce while Raquel Rodriguez was leaving. During the exchange, Green repeatedly said Rodriguez was just a loser after she’d been pinned by Rhea Ripley at Payback.

This brought Rodriguez back into the fold and Pearce said seeing as Piper Niven “wasn’t medically cleared,” Green would face the star later that night. Unsurprisingly, Rodriguez dispatched Green in a little over a minute and then announced she would be facing Ripley for the Women’s World Title next week, with Dominik Mysterio banned from ringside.

The comment by Pearce about Niven kickstarted the conversation about the Women’s Tag Team Titles being cursed, given everyone who holds them seems to get injured. However, things aren’t quite that serious this time around.

According to Fightful Select, Niven is only dealing with a “short-term illness” and is expected back within the next couple of weeks. There are now plans to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

How Did Piper Niven Become Women’s Tag Team Champion?

Piper Niven made a surprise return to WWE Raw on August 14th. The star arrived backstage and laid out Kayden Carter and Katana Chance before declaring herself Chelsea Green’s new tag team partner, and tag team champion.

Green had been holding auditions for a new tag team partner after Sonya Deville suffered a serious knee injury that will keep her on the sidelines for a number of months.
