WWE Champion Drew McIntyre joined Sportskeeda’s Riju Dasgupta for a special interview, during which Drew was asked about former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. The pair will meet at the upcoming ‘Superstar Spectacle’ PPV which will also see Mahal’s WWE return.
When asked about his opponent, Drew heaped tons of praise on the ‘Modern Day Maharaja‘, pointing out his incredible physique and desire to get back into the WWE ring.
If you’ve seen on his social media, he’s been posting pictures how he looks right now. Physically he looks incredible. He’s ready to get back. I’ve been working out with him. And you know he’s just chomping at a bit.
Going further, McIntyre noted that the absence of Mahal during the ‘ThunderDome era‘ may come as a boost – returning under the spectacle of the India driven PPV is to Jinder’s advantage.
He’s not been back since like all this started. Like he doesn’t know what it’s like to go out in the ThunderDome and get a taste of things and he’s excited his return is happening and not just in the ThunderDome but happening for the Superstar Spectacle, especially then for India.
Jinder Mahal hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since his latest return from a knee injury in April 2020. It that, he aggravated his knee in the victory over Akira Tozawa and has since been recovering after more surgery. Drew believes that this return will be a great moment for Jinder, and promises something special for the match between the former 3MB partners.
It’s like a perfect place for him to return. And I got a good feeling if people will check out the Superstar Spectacle, they’re going to see something very special. I don’t wanna give any spoilers but let’s just say Jinder’s gonna be back, we’ve got a lot of history and you might see something cool if you check out the show.
