Philadelphia Addresses Possibility Of Hosting Future WWE WrestleMania

Officials in Philadelphia remain optimistic that they won’t have to wait too long for WWE to return to the city.

On April 6th and April 7th, the company presented WrestleMania 40, which went on to be the most successful event in the history of the company with multiple records shattered. In addition to the weekend of action inside Lincoln Financial Field, tapings of Raw, SmackDown, the Hall of Fame ceremony and NXT Stand & Deliver all took place inside the Wells Fargo Center and for the first time ever WWE World opened for the majority of the week leading up to the event.

Although the dates or location for WrestleMania 41 are yet to be confirmed, executive director of PHL Sports Larry Needle has told the Sports Business Journal that they are considering future conversations with WWE over hosting another event.

“This is such a highly-coveted event that we know there’s a long line of cities clamoring to host, and that’s just the reality of an event of this magnitude. But needless to say, we would be thrilled to have WrestleMania back, and at the right time we will engage in those conversations with the WWE,”

Prior to WrestleMania 40, the last time the biggest professional wrestling event of the year took place in Philadelphia was back in 1999 when WrestleMania 15 aired live from the City of Brotherly Love. Those in Philadelphia will be hoping that the next Mania to take place in the city will not be 25 years from now.

WWE To Reset The Rosters In Late April

With the fallout from WrestleMania 40 now complete, the company looks ahead to the end of the month as the 2024 draft will take place on the April 26th SmackDown and April 29th Raw. Although it is not known which stars will be drafted on which night, more information has been provided about the WWE Draft.
