Pete Dunne Challenges Tony D’Angelo To Weaponized Steel Cage Match

Pete Dunne Tony D'Angelo

Tensions between Pete Dunne and Tony D’Angelo have been rising for months, and their feud will culminate in a weaponized steel cage match at Vengeance Day!

Pete Dunne and Tony D’Angelo have been at odds ever since the two first face off at NXT: WarGames back in December. The former NXT UK Champion was victorious in their first singles bout later that month, but D’Angelo attacked him after the match, leading to a Crowbar on a Pole match on January 11th.

The Bruiserweight ended up with a crowbar smashed across his face, and the next week, Tony D’Angelo had a memorial service for his fallen opponent, believing that Dunne was gone for good. However, the former NXT Tag Team Champion wasn’t done with his foe, and attacked during D’Angelo’s match against Cameron Grimes the next week, costing him both the match and a shot at the NXT North American Championship.

On the most recent episode of NXT 2.0, Pete Dunne reveled in this attack, and said that their feud needed to end where it started: inside a steel cage. Not only that, he called for there to be weapons attached to the cage, making it a Weaponized Steel Cage Match since crowbars have played such a prominent role in the feud. Their match will take place at Vengeance Day on February 15th.

Elsewhere on Vengeance Day, Carmelo Hayes will face Cameron Grimes for the North American Championship, and the team of Perisa Pirotta and Indi Hartwell will challenge Toxic Attraction for a shot at the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. The show will also feature the finals of the men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
