‘The Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne has spoken out about his plans for Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era once the stable returns to NXT from injury.

Appearing on WWE’s The Bump, the former and longest reigning WWE United Kingdom Champion in history told the cast of his intentions to end the bloc once and for all and become NXT Champion in the process:

“I just don’t like the Undisputed Era. I’ve had problems with them throughout my whole run in WWE, so any chance to get back at them and finish them off for once and all, I’m down for it.

I knew coming back to NXT, this was my chance. I’m in the best shape of my life, I’m re-centered, I’m refocused, it’s time to come in and take over NXT. And when that opportunity presented itself, obviously I had to take it. Undisputed Era have been on top of NXT for years now, it’s time to completely get rid of them. So again I can keep this focus, keep moving forward and eventually get that NXT title.”

Should Pete Dunne attain the NXT Championship, then he will be the first wrestler in history to have held both the NXT and now NXT UK Championships.

The NXT career of ‘The Bruiserweight’ has been littered with dealings with The Undisputed Era. Not only did Roderick Strong turn on the Brit to seal a heel turn and snag a place in the bloc, but Dunne has been involved with championship defences and challenges with the group since 2018.

His last dalliance with the quartet came earlier this year when he and Matt Riddle as The BroserWeights dethroned the group and became NXT Tag Team Champions.

Dunne also commented on returning to NXT after time away from the ring during the COVID-19 pandemic:

“Yeah, it was weird for me. I’ve wrestled since I was 12 years old, so I’ve never had time off, even through injury and stuff, I’ve always managed to maintain a busy schedule. So for me it was the first time I’ve ever really had off in wrestling, so it was a weird feeling being back in there.”

Pete Dunne had previously shaken off the ring rust in his old stomping ground of NXT UK, when he teamed with Ilja Dragunov to battle NXT UK Champion, Walter, and Alexander Wolfe before returning to the black and gold brand at NXT Halloween Havoc.
