Peacemaker Season 2 has begun production and is the reason why John Cena can’t compete in a much anticipated WWE match.
It was rumored that John Cena would compete in a match against new Mr. Money in the Bank Theory at this year’s SummerSlam. However, Cena stated during his 20th-anniversary celebration on RAW that he didn’t know when he’ll compete in a match again.
Cena’s promo left many fans wondering whether the former WWE Champion was busy with another huge movie/TV project. Well, that project is the continuation of a beloved superhero show.
F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez revealed that Cena is working on the second series of the hit HBO Max streaming show Peacemaker. The series is expected to return sometime in 2023.
Peacemaker became a success with both fans and critics. The show received an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series or Variety Program. The final episode of season one set the record for the biggest single-day release for the HBO Max streaming service. The season also holds a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
As for Cena’s match against Theory, it was reported that it could still possibly happen at next year’s WrestleMania in Hollywood. After winning Money in the Bank, Theory took the time to call out Cena again. Whether or not Cena will have time to shut Theory up for good remains to be seen.
