Will Ospreay Releases Merch Parodying 'Off-Script' Claims

Will Ospreay making his entrance at AEW Dynasty

Will Ospreay has released brand-new merchandise parodying claims that he went off-script in a viral clip.

The Assassin came under fire last week when a clip from his match against the late Kurtis Chapman in 2022 resurfaced on social media. It was falsely claimed that Ospreay went “off-script and shows brutality” in the clip, in which the AEW star uses the Hidden Blade before hitting several forearm strikes to the back of Chapman’s head.

Thankfully, Ospreay has found a way to create some good from the incident. In a post to his X account, he unveiled a new AEW t-shirt parodying the false claim and announced that all royalties made from it will be sent to the family of Chapman – who tragically passed away at the age of 26 last December.

Issues between the two became public earlier this year when Artem was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence following an incident at their home. The professional dancer did not face charges following the arrest.

Paul Wight has once again revived his infamous ‘Captain Insano’ gimmick, but this time at an unexpected event!

Wight made sure the Country Music Association Awards was a Big Show with a surprise cameo as Captain Insano at the event. Appearing as part of Bailey Zimmerman’s performance at the event, the AEW star carried Zimmerman on his shoulders towards the end of his song.

The former Big Show initially played Captain Insano in 1998’s The Waterboy and has since reprised the role a few times in AEW. The bizarre gimmick last appeared during a pre-taped Dynamite segment with Adam Cole and MJF back in September 2023.

Thanks for the invite Bailey Zimmerman! 👊Captain Insano shows no mercy!#CMAwards
