Paul Heyman Describes The Aspect Of Wrestling That’s “Better Than Sex”

Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman really enjoys one particular aspect of pro wrestling, in fact the man himself described it as “spiritually orgasmic.”

The Special Counsel to Universal Champion Roman Reigns has seen it all in the crazy world of professional wrestling. From starting out as a photographer to being a manager, company owner, commentator, Executive Director and advocate, there isn’t much that Paul E hasn’t turned his hand to. But there’s one aspect of performing that he says stands above all others.

Appearing on The Nick Cattles Show, Paul Heyman lifted the lid on the thrill that he gets from performing. For a man who has spent more than three decades interacting with live crowds, Heyman says there’s nothing better. Including sex.

“Just the interaction with the audience. I love to play with an audience. Roman Reigns and The Usos love to play with an audience. If you’re in WWE and you don’t find the interaction with an audience to be spiritually orgasmic, you’re in the wrong promotion. We are everything that a live concert is supposed to be. The audience itself is a character in the show. To play with that audience and interact with that audience is the best part of it. It’s a high. It’s beyond Rockstar status.

It’s an exquisite moment that you get to experience and if it’s done right, it’s better than sex, at least the sex I’ve had or the sex my partners tells me they’ve had with me. It’s magnificent, a great experience. When you get to play with that crowd…I’ve been talking for a living for 35 years and I still find it difficult to convey in words the enormity of the fulfilment that one feels playing with a live crowd, especially on live television.”

Paul Heyman is currently preparing to lead his Tribal Chief into a huge clash with WWE Champion Big E at Survivor Series. The rivalry between The New Day and The Bloodline has ramped up in recent weeks, with the Usos and Roman Reigns laying a vicious beatdown on Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods on the November 5th episode of SmackDown.
