Paul Heyman has laid down an amusing challenge to his boss and President of World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon. To meet him in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania in a Bodybuilding Pose Down.
Speaking with the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast, the advocate and council to WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was quizzed about what he would love to do on, ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’, other than stand in the corner of his ward:
“I want to main event a WrestleMania in a Bodybuilding Pose Down with Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Number one, I’m sure the payday would be spectacular. Number two, because I wear suits all the time, my physique is highly underrated and underappreciated. Vince McMahon, to his credit, still works out very hard in the gym. I would love to defeat him in a Bodybuilding Pose Down at WrestleMania.”
While Heyman’s comments were made for fun, there is history between the former godfather of ECW and Vince McMahon dating back to 1997 when the billionaire aided Extreme Championship Wrestling with exposure on Monday Night Raw.
Though Heyman has spoken on the bad blood between them following his dismissal in 2006, the pair are on excellent terms in the present and the mouthpiece holds no ill-will after being removed from his role as Executive Director of Raw earlier this year.
While it is unlikely this contest would ever happen, it isn’t impossible that the boss would find such an idea amusing enough to accept. It wouldn’t be the first in WWE history either, after The Ultimate Warrior and ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude participated under the very same stipulations at the 1989 Royal Rumble.
Currently, Paul Heyman can be found by the side of ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown.
