Paul Heyman Pitches To Host Popular Canceled Late-Night Show

Paul Heyman Explains Why WWE Hall Of Fame Speech Was The Catalyst For Huge Change

Paul Heyman is all up to increase his television presence.

Earlier this year, on July 17th, 2025, CBS Television Network dropped the tragic news of canceling ‘Late Night with Stephen Colbert’ and later scrapping the franchise altogether in May 2026.

Widely popular amongst its fans, the unfortunate news has taken its audience by shock, who have regularly made sure to voice their displeasure over the decision on the internet. However, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman recently came up with a unique idea to save the franchise’s future.

Speaking to Adam Glyn of TMZ, Heyman pitched the network to choose him over Colbert and continue with the show, while even suggesting a spike in their ratings.

“I think it’s the dumbest move CBS has ever made. Why? They fired Stephen Colbert and they canceled the show. CBS should’ve kept the show, renamed it the Late Show starring Paul Heyman. Could you imagine every night, except for Mondays when I’m on Raw, ‘Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Paul Heyman. Welcome to The Late Show.’ If CBS wants ratings, call me.”

Although the network discontinued the show due to financial constraints, it was also widely speculated that pressure from Donald Trump’s administration contributed to its cancellation.

Heyman is now scheduled to be at SummerSlam 2025 in Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed’s corner during their match against Jey Uso and Roman Reigns.

Paul Heyman Discusses The Legacy Of Late WWE Star, Bray Wyatt

A few days ago, during an interview with CBS Sports, Paul Heyman opened up on the legacy of late WWE star Bray Wyatt.

He understood that character and the characters that were all built within the character, better than anybody else. Better than any producer, writer, director that we had on staff or someone else from the outside.”

Anyone that I know who has been in a creative capacity in this or any other industry would tell you, ‘Don’t do that. Whatever you do, don’t do that.’ In fact, that’s the last thing you should do,” Heyman told CBS Sports. “‘Why would you allow the vulnerabilities of that character to be shown, especially at this moment upon your return?’ Yet he did it. With such authenticity that he made us all look bad by saying, ‘What’s he doing? Why would he do this?’ Because he was so committed.”
