Paul Heyman recently broke his silence on the matter and reflected on the accomplishments of the late WWE Superstar Bray Wyatt.
In August 2023, the wrestling world was shocked at the untimely passing of Bray Wyatt, who was only 36 at the time. Fans and fellow wrestlers paid tribute to The Eater of Worlds, and his legacy is now being continued by his brother, Bo Dallas, aka Uncle Howdy, in WWE by leading The Wyatt Sicks stable.
Wyatt was considered by many to be a creative genius for bringing eccentric characters to life, like The Fiend, the concept of the Firefly Funhouse, and the character of Uncle Howdy and his aforementioned group. Unsurprisingly, even WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman had nothing but praise for the late superstar.
Paul Heyman Considers Bray Wyatt Better Than Anybody In And Outside WWE
In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Paul Heyman finally talked about the legacy of Bray Wyatt and stated the latter understood his character and everything revolving around it better than anybody else, including any producer, writers, or directors in and outside WWE:
He understood that character and the characters that were all built within the character, better than anybody else. Better than any producer, writer, director that we had on staff or someone else from the outside.”
He added that creatives even questioned Wyatt’s perspectives when it came to approaching his characters, including Heyman himself. However, Bray would always prove them wrong.
Anyone that I know who has been in a creative capacity in this or any other industry would tell you, ‘Don’t do that. Whatever you do, don’t do that.’ In fact, that’s the last thing you should do,” Heyman told CBS Sports. “‘Why would you allow the vulnerabilities of that character to be shown, especially at this moment upon your return?’ Yet he did it. With such authenticity that he made us all look bad by saying, ‘What’s he doing? Why would he do this?’ Because he was so committed.”
Paul Heyman added that Bray Wyatt’s brilliance and body of work have yet to be examined, and people will realize how much more impressive his ideas were once they look back on them.
