Paul Heyman has addressed his eventual WWE return following the recent events that have taken place on SmackDown.
At SummerSlam, Roman Reigns made his long-awaited return to TV, attacking Solo Sikoa in the process. While Reigns has had the upper hand in the first 2 confrontations with The Bloodline, The Original Tribal Chief proved to be no match for Jacob Fatu’s assault on the August 16th edition of SmackDown.
With Reigns needing backup against The Bloodline at full strength, fans are aware that The Wiseman’s return is inevitable at some point. However, when asked when that might be, Heyman said it would need to be for a specific reason.
Appearing at NYC Fanatics Fest, the Hall of Famer stated that he would need to come back for a specific reason:
“It is going to set up a year’s worth of storylines. I will come back when it’s relevant for me to come back, when I need to come back, when I can add to Roman Reigns and not just ride his coattails and hang off of his glory. I love Jimmy Hart, I really do, I have so much respect for Jimmy Hart. But I don’t want to be Jimmy Hart carrying the boas for Hulk Hogan. I want to do something that contributes so much to the act that you sit there and you say ‘I love Roman Reigns, but my God I love him so much more with The Wiseman Paul Heyman.'”

Remaining with The Bloodline while Reigns went on hiatus following his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, Heyman gradually saw the group he was once familiar with evolve into its newest form with the arrivals of Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu. Refusing to acknowledge Solo Sikoa as the new Tribal Chief, Paul Heyman was powerbombed through the announce table and has not been seen since.
