Never a man to be knowingly short on confidence, Paul Heyman has declared that he is the greatest manager of all-time.
While some fans hold up Jim Cornette as the greatest manager of all-time, others point to the likes of Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, J.J. Dillion and Paul Bearer as the ultimate master of their craft.
However, with regard to the modern era, Paul Heyman has staked his own claim to named the best-ever. It’s a claim that unsurprisingly, the man himself also agrees with.
Speaking to 101 WRIF, Heyman claimed that his work with Universal Champion Roman Reigns alone, places him at the top of any best-of list.
“I think it’s undisputed that I am the greatest manager, advocate, and special counsel of all time. If for no other reason than the first 35 years of my stellar career on top,” Paul Heyman said. “I am the special counsel for the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, the Head of the Table, the end all be all, Roman Reigns who smashed, absolutely smashed Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania to unify the WWE and Universal Heavyweight Championships and is now the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world with this entire industry.”
“Just based on that, let alone everything else I accomplished before, I’d say you got a pair of GOAT’S on your hand now.”
During the conversation, Heyman also reflected on his history with Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker, two men he spent time managing in WCW.
At WrestleMania 38, Paul Heyman stood alongside Roman Reigns as he became Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, overcoming his former charge Brock Lesnar. On the following episode of SmackDown, Reigns declared his intention for the Bloodline to dominate WWE, with the Usos unifying the Tag Team Championships.
