Paul Heyman has been giving Big E advice should the former NXT Champion and New Day member wants to become a success in the industry.
Not so long ago, the Counsel to the WWE Universal Champion told Big E that if he wanted to make it big without Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods then he needed to take himself and what he did more seriously.
Now, the two men have met again on WWE Talking Smack with Paul Heyman imparting more advice on the talent. Believing that Big E could be a future WWE Hall of Famer and that everyone in the company has been waiting for this version of the talent, Heyman had this to say:
“It’s about damn time that this Big E came to the surface. This is the Big E that we’ve all been waiting for and when I say ‘we all’ I mean every single member of this production crew, Kayla [Braxton] and all her contemporaries on the announcing staff, every member of that locker room, Roman Reigns himself, and I have all been waiting for this Big E. Because this is the Big E that one day goes into the WWE Hall of Fame. This is the Big E that Kofi and Xavier brag about even knowing and I mean no disrespect towards Kofi and Xavier, you know how much I respect and admire them, but truth be told, sir, the muscle behind The New Day was always Big E and now, you have a champion in your sights, which means you have a championship in your sights and Sami [Zayn] is the best first step in that direction for you because believe me, sir, when I tell you, a champion is only as great as the challengers that he puts down.”
Roman Reigns’ right hand man even went further, comparing the former Big E. Langston to ‘The Tribal Chief’ himself once The Shield disbanded and the members went their different ways:
“This Big E, a focused Big E, a singles championship-minded Big E has so much potential that ten years from now, as your story is being written, they will all say that the accomplishments that you did with The New Day pale by respectful comparison to the accomplishments that you will pull off on your own and I say that to you with the following [caveat], what you’re going to accomplish in the next ten years will be mind-boggling, sir. I’m looking forward to seeing it as is everybody else, but you have to accept in your heart that The New Day will only be a footnote in the story of the greatness of Big E and if I may prove my case to you, I ask you a rhetorical question, when was the last time you saw Roman Reigns in the ring, and anybody even bothered to mention The Shield?”
Big E has been taking small steps towards change in recent weeks, doing away with his New Day entrance theme and replacing it with a new ditty by the artist, Wale. He has also resurrected his old entrance gimmick of chalking his hands prior to a match.
However, if Paul Heyman is to believed then there’s still a way to go before the star is taken seriously by men like Roman Reigns who he has been heavily linked with in the not too distant future.
