The feud between Pat McAfee and Adam Cole shows no sign of abating with both men ramping up their war of words and McAfee inviting Cole to see him on Friday Night SmackDown.
Cole and McAfee famously fell out during an interview Cole was taking part in for McAfee’s YouTube channel. After being mocked for his height, the former leader of the Undisputed Era wrecked the production equipment and stormed out. This led to McAfee blindsiding Cole on NXT and punting him in the head harkening back to his days as the punter for the Indianapolis Colts. A match between the two men took place at NXT TakeOver: XXX with Cole coming out on top.
Things were far from over however as McAfee recruited Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, and Pete Dunne to join him as ‘The Kings of NXT.’ This led to a War Games match in December 2020 pitting McAfee’s Kings against Cole’s Undisputed Era. The Undisputed Era survived the war and won the match when Kyle O’Reilly pinned Lorcan.
Adam Cole was a guest on WWE’s The Bump where he was talking about his time in NXT when he had some strong words about McAfee.
Cole said:
“Pat McAfee, again, the fact that he has tricked so many people into working alongside him kind of blows my mind,” said Cole. “That was a really, really big issue for me, but again, my hatred for Pat was so strong that again, it could have been anybody and I was laser-focused on Pat the whole time.”
Cole then tried to get fellow guest and upcoming opponent at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Pete Dunne, to comment on McAfee but the Englishman refused.
Cole then continued:
“I wouldn’t want to talk about that embarrassment Pat McAfee either, I don’t blame him.”
Later on an episode of The Pat McAfee Show, the former NFL star issued a rebuttal to Cole:
“Hey Adam Cole, pal, hey listen, you’re talking to Mr. Friday Night now. Come over to Friday, pal. Alright, you can make the rules, I guess. You’ve just been living around, doing whatever you gotta [do.] Come over to Friday, pal. Say what you gotta say and eat another boot to the f*cking mouth. I hate that guy, Adam Cole.”
“This Sunday he’s somehow just bullied and waltzed his way into an NXT Championship shot at In Your House Sunday night or something like that. I hope he gets killed out there, I hope he gets decimated by Karrion Kross. I hope so. He deserves it.”
