Pat McAfee Sends Invitation To WWE Hall Of Famer To Help Him Prepare For Gunther Match

Pat McAfee Confirms WWE Return

Pat McAfee is all set to face Gunther at WWE Backlash 2025.

In just a few days, Raw announcer Pat McAfee is scheduled to be in one of the toughest wrestling matches of his life against The Ring General. Last week, on the 21st April edition of Raw, fans witnessed Gunther launch a vicious attack on Michael Cole and Pat McAfee, which later prompted McAfee to challenge Gunther to a match.

As Nick Aldis confirmed the match for Backlash 2025, McAfee found himself unprepared for the bout. Looking to improve his game ahead of the match, McAfee invited ‘Big Poppa Pump’ Scott Steiner to help him out.

Speaking on his Pat McAfee show, he invited Scott Steiner to appear on his show and help him get ready for his Backlash bout.

“Big Poppa Pump wants to come down. He said he’s on standby if we need an appearance on the ThunderDome. Big Poppa Pump, I’d like to extend a formal invitation for whatever you want to get over here. I don’t know if I can build any of the pump that you have. But if you wanna come here and give me some strategies, some tips and thoughts, tidbits—maybe work me through some things against GUNTHER. Cause obviously, I’ve seen what the Steiner family has produced.”

Steiner later replied on X(Twitter), and teased his involvement.

“The Genetic Freak + Pat = disaster for Gunther.”
The 2022 Hall of Famer further stated on X(Twitter),
“Big Poppa Pump is your hookup. Let’s get it done.”
While McAfee is all geared up for his match against the former World Champion, Gunther is far away from taking the ex-NFL punter seriously.

Goldberg Believes Gunther Is The Most Logical Opponent For His WWE Retirement Match

Earlier this year, during an interview with Ariel Helwani, Goldberg opened up on the possibility of facing Gunther in his retirement match and named him as the most logical opponent, based on their past.

“I haven’t been able to do much at all preparation-wise. But I think that the positives of the stem cell treatment were such a positive that it was worth me staying out of the gym for the longest period of time I ever have in my entire life and and staying away from physical activity.

“If it was Gunther and I that would be logical. There’s some heat there, obviously, that’s already been placed. And he’s the new generation. I’m the old generation. It’s kind of like a passing of the torch in a way.”

Shortly after the interview, an update on Gunther was provided.
