A veteran WWE star opens up about how working with Pat McAfee helped revitalize his love for pro wrestling.
Last week, Pat McAfee signed a contract extension with WWE. Everyone who has worked with McAfee during his time in WWE was thrilled by the news, including veteran commentator Michael Cole.
The veteran commentator, who works with McAfee every week on SmackDown, took to social media to express his respect for his commentary partner:
“After 25 years in “the booth,” working with @PatMcAfeeShow is the highlight of each week. His excitement is contagious (even if he almost kicks me when standing on our table) and has helped revitalize my love for our business! @WWE, our fans, and I are lucky to have him!”
WWE recently released behind-the-scenes footage of McAfee and Cole jumping up for joy as Liv Morgan successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase to become SmackDown Women’s Champion.
McAfee transitioned into a SmackDown commentator after a brief stint on NXT. He’s currently in a feud with Happy Corbin leading up to a match at SummerSlam in Nashville, Tennessee.

McAfee has had some success in a WWE ring with matches against Adam Cole and Theory. He, unfortunately, suffered a loss in the hands of Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania 38 earlier in 2022 but got a measure of revenge with the help of Stone Cold Steve Austin.
